Save The Date!

The Ada County budget presentation and public hearing will be held on Tuesday, July 21, at 6:00 p.m. This starting time should prove to be more convenient than last year's 5:00 p.m. kickoff. Please attend this hearing to express your views on spending priorities within the Ada County budget. If you think spending should be cut in certain areas, we want to hear that too!

I tried the online budget questionnaire and gave up. The first section seemed designed to show me how little I know about the budget (I assume so my opinion could be later discounted). It would have been much better to have the first page explain things rather than ask questions that most people won't know. I got mad and never made it into the actual survey.

Eric ~ Thank you for the feedback. I had the same reaction that you did when I saw that section of the survey but it was a collaborative effort and I was unable to get that part changed. Last year when I responded to the survey, I skipped anything that seemed irrelevant or ambiguous. I would encourage you to try again, and do the same thing, just skipping anything you prefer not to answer. Thanks again! ~ Sharon

Thanks, Sharon, however... I just tried to take it again. It won't let me past question 10 (the first of the "how much weight should we give your opinion, you uninformed doofus" questions). I hope you can square this away in the future.

Thank you for trying again, Eric, and letting me know that it isn't allowing you to skip that section. Last year when I completed the survey, I was able to skip a section and go on. Perhaps things are set up differently this year. I am looking into it.

Eric ~ Unfortunately, there is no way to change the survey configuration and allow skipping without losing the data that has already been gathered. Hopefully next year the survey will be set up differently. If you have suggestions for how it can be improved, please feel free to send your suggestions to BOCC1@adaweb.net . Thank you!
